Cement sales in Puerto Rico advanced by 38.9 per cent to 14.3m bags of 42.5kg, or 607,750t in 2018. The figure is the highest reported since 2014 and has been attributed mainly to the island’s reconstruction drive following Hurricane Maria.

Cement output reached 13.2m bags, or 561,000t, representing a 44.6 per cent rise YoY when compared with 2017, when production volumes fell by 14.2 per cent, according to Esmerk Latin American News.
